Governor Jonathan Bii’s nguzo kumi manifesto on Water is to improve the living standard of Uasin Gishu County residents through the provision of reliable water and sanitation services, with an ultimate goal to connect up to 60 percent of households to piped water by 2024.

Kapkoi Dispensary, a level two health facility located in Tarakwa Ward, Kapkoi Village now has adequate water after the Department of Water in partnership with Tarakwo Dairies drilled a borehole at the facility.

Chief Officer for Water, Mr. Elijah Koech, thanked the family of the late Elijah Busienei who donated the two acres piece of land for Kapkoi Dispensary to serve Tarakwa residents.

“Water is a fundamental human right and as Kapkoi dispensary facility is along the highway and receives clients as far as Chereber, Timboroa and those in transit along with those within the catchment areas, the water project will be of more benefit as soon as it is completed,” said Koech.

Koech also appreciated Tarakwa dairies for their support towards the drilling of the borehole that will serve Kapkoi dispensary, AIC Kapkoi church and the community of up to 30 households around the project.

Koech further emphasized and called on farmers in that region to join cooperatives and Tarakwa dairies in order to benefit more.

The area MCA, Thomas Yego, with his Cheptiret/Kipchamoo counterpart, Gilbert Sato, praised the dispensary management on the good progress over the years and also lauded Governor Bii’s administration on Nguzo Kumi manifesto as residents benefit upto the grassroots level.

A Ksh 1.5 million cheque was presented to Kapkoi Dispensary from Tarakwo Dairies and later a tree planting session and the drilling of the borehole officially commenced.
