The County Government of Uasin Gishu has assured textile investors who are keen on establishing their industrial businesses at the Eldoret Export Processing Zone (EPZ) of its commitment to avail all required services.
While hosting a textile investor at his office on Monday, Trade and Industrialization Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui said the administration is ready with the needed information for the mentioned sectors.
“We are upbeat and we want to assure you that anything you request will be provided because Governor Jonathan Bii is keenly following the progress of this project” said Tanui.
The County has already made plans to provide adequate water, sewerage systems, electricity and road access for the processing zone.
The meeting revolved around the EPZ infrastructural preparedness, availability of water, power and human resources, among other agendas.
Gatsby Africa Textile and Apparel, Deputy Director/Technical Specialist Richard Davies, during a site visit to EPZ in Cherunya, lauded the ongoing construction noting that the site is accessible and is located within the town.
Director for Trade Isaac Lagat and Deputy Director for Investment Brenda Rono were present.
