COUNTY AUDITIONING FOR GROUPS TO PERFORM DURING THE DEVOLUTION CONFERENCE

The Department of Culture, Gender and Social Protection is in the process of identifying groups that will be performing during the upcoming Devolution Conference that will be held in Eldoret town.

On Wednesday, Department’s Chief Officer, Eunice Suter, witnessed several sessions where the groups are being auditioned.

“I have gone round to check on the exercise that seeks to identify groups performing to our guests. They are doing well and at the end of the process, we shall get the best,” Suter said.

According to Director of Culture Mohammed Dakane, the county has over 50 groups.

However, only 20 will be selected to be part of those that will participate in the conference.

“The selected groups will be performing on different days,” Dakane said.

The auditioning will continue until the end of the week when the best teams will have been identified.

The Devolution Conference will start on August 15, 2022.

It will be held at the Eldoret Sports Club where at least 10,000 participants from across the country are expected to attend.

Apart from the main conference, there are several activities lined up among them sports which will take place at the Kipchoge Keino Stadium whose construction works are expected to be complete by then.
