The County Government of Uasin Gishu has assured the beads art group doing business along Nandi Park in Eldoret town of the provision of a conducive operation space for them to enjoy doing their beading business.

Addressing the businesspersons on Monday, County Executive Committee Member for Trade and Cooperatives Martha Cheruto noted that her docket is working to see that they work in a good environment adding that they will soon benefit from among others, capacity building program on financial management and sponsor them to attend the annual Regional Trade Fair exhibitions.

The specialized beading group of 14 women which has been doing their business for years without any financial support from the lending institutions, were also advised to form a Sacco to benefit from credit financing.

“The moment you register a Sacco, you will be well placed on finances because you will be able to borrow funds from all government financial entities and expand your businesses,” advised Cheruto.

On matters of promotion of trade, the Directorate of Trade and that of Culture have been providing MSMEs with exhibition space within the town for them to showcase their products.

The Director for Micro and Small Enterprises Authority (MSEA) North Rift region Alton Kogo lauded them for being persistent and consistent in their work and always adding value to their products.

Mr Kogo also echoed the CECM’s sentiments on involving them in participating in trade exhibitions as well as linking them to other financial projects, grants, empowerment and capacity building.
