COUNTIES READY TO RUMBLE AT THE KICOSCA 2023 GAMES IN MERU

The Kenya Inter-Counties Sports and Cultural Association games foster a sense of cohesion and provide cross-cultural comradeship, which is hinged to an efficient public service.

Council of Governors chair of the Sports Committee, Simon Kachapin said this on Monday as he opened the 2023 games at Kinoru Stadium in Meru County.

The West Pokot Governor underlines Kicosca as quite advantageous to injecting motivation into public service personnel. He said friendship created at the games is healthy in service.

On her part, host Governor Kawira Mwangaza noted that the games are a catalyst for talent development and sports promotion in Kenyan public service.

Athletics, football, basketball, volleyball, darts, golf, volleyball, pool, and tug of war are some of the competitions in this year’s edition themed Elevating Devolution through sports and culture.

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has been dominating the podium at previous editions of the games. The week-long competition in Meru will culminate in the selection of the national team for the East Africa Local Authorities Sports and Cultural Association (EALASCA) games later in the year.
