GOVERNOR BII WOOS POLISH INVESTORS TO POSITION UASIN GISHU AS A PREFERRED INVESTMENT DESTINATION

Uasin Gishu Governor Dr Jonathan Bii Chelilim has called on Polish investors to explore the county’s vast economic potential and establish strategic partnerships that will position Uasin Gishu as a preferred investment destination in Kenya.

The Governor made the remarks while hosting a Polish delegation led by Hon. Anna Bańkowska, Deputy Marshal of the West Pomeranian Region of Poland, during a courtesy call to the County Government. The delegation comprised representatives of twelve Polish companies and officials from the Marshal’s Office.

Governor Bii expressed optimism that the engagement would open new avenues for trade, investment and technology transfer, while creating opportunities for local enterprises and accelerating the county’s economic transformation.

He noted that Uasin Gishu’s strategic location, strong agricultural base, growing urban economy and expanding industrial potential provide a favourable environment for investors seeking mutually beneficial partnerships.

The visit brought together County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers, directors and other county officials drawn from various departments to engage the visiting delegation on possible areas of cooperation.

Discussions focused on investment opportunities in key sectors, including agricultural machinery, fertilisers, cosmetics, food-processing equipment, railway engineering, cybersecurity and industrial technology.

The engagement is expected to strengthen economic ties between Uasin Gishu County and Poland, with both sides exploring areas where Polish expertise and technology can complement the county’s development priorities.

The County Government reaffirmed its commitment to creating an enabling environment for investors through partnerships that promote innovation, modernise agriculture, support industrial development and expand opportunities for local businesses.

The engagement marks an important step towards positioning Uasin Gishu as a competitive investment hub, with the county seeking to translate international partnerships into tangible economic benefits, job creation and sustainable growth for its residents.
