The County Government of Uasin Gishu’s Department of Trade has intensified preparations for the allocation and official opening of the Iconic 64 Ultra-Modern Market, ahead of its anticipated commissioning during this year’s Mashujaa Day celebrations by H.E. the President.

Chief Officer for Trade, Elphas Kesio, this evening inspected the ongoing works at the market to assess the level of preparedness and ensure that the facility is delivered within the set timelines.

The inspection focused on the progress of construction works, with the contractor and other teams gearing up to meet the deadline ahead of the official opening and subsequent allocation of stalls to traders.

The Chief Officer was accompanied by the Director of Trade, Nelly Jerotich, and Trade Development Officers.

The Iconi 64 Market is among the county’s investments aimed at providing modern, organized and conducive trading spaces while supporting local businesses and improving the working environment for traders.

The Department continues to coordinate with relevant stakeholders to ensure the facility is ready for occupation and that the allocation process is undertaken in line with the established guidelines.
