County Executive Committee Member for Health Services Janet Kurgat, on Thursday, inspected the ongoing construction of Tiret Level 4 Hospital as part of the County Government’s efforts to expand healthcare infrastructure and improve access to quality medical services.

The visit reflects the administration of Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim’s commitment under Nguzo Number Two, which prioritizes strengthening healthcare services and improving the well-being of residents.

During the inspection, CECM Kurgat noted significant progress at Tiret Level 4 Hospital, with beam and metal works completed while roofing works were ongoing and expected to be finalized soon.

“We are encouraged by the progress being made at Tiret Level 4 Hospital. However, we are calling on the contractor to expedite the remaining works so that this important facility can be completed within the required timelines and begin serving our people,” said CECM Kurgat.

The CECM also conducted a supervision visit to Kisor Dispensary, where she assessed the status of healthcare services and the availability of essential supplies.

The facility had resumed services, with sufficient medicines, operational laboratory and outpatient services, as well as Wi-Fi connectivity.

At Kipkenyo Health Centre, the team assessed key services including ongoing Social Health Authority (SHA) registration, triage, outpatient services, laboratory services and Maternal and Child Health (MCH) services, with medicines available and staff on duty.

“Our focus is not only on putting up health infrastructure but also ensuring that these facilities provide reliable and quality services. I urge our healthcare workers to remain committed, professional and responsive to the needs of patients,” Kurgat added.

The supervision exercise was attended by Principal Programme Officer Johannes Mosbei and Health Project Coordinator Gerry Luvai.
