GOVERNOR FLAGS OFF KAPSAOS FARMERS FOR DAIRY BENCHMARKING TOUR IN KIAMBU

Members of the Kapsaos Farmers’ Cooperative Society have embarked on a dairy farming benchmarking tour to Kiambu County following a flag-off ceremony led by Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii on Tuesday morning.

The tour is aimed at equipping farmers with practical knowledge and skills in modern dairy farming, milk processing and value addition as the county intensifies efforts to improve agricultural productivity and household incomes.

Speaking during the flag-off, the Governor praised the cooperative for its commitment to transforming the livelihoods of local farmers through collective enterprise.

He described cooperatives as a critical vehicle for economic empowerment and sustainable development.

Through the area MCA, Isaac Samoei Chepkulei, the Governor reiterated his administration’s commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement, noting that cooperative development remains a key pillar of his broader development agenda.

He encouraged the farmers to take full advantage of the learning opportunity by studying successful dairy farming models in Kiambu and adopting the best practices that can be replicated back home to improve production and profitability.

The ceremony was attended by Chief Officer for Cooperatives Elphas Kesio, Enterprise Fund Director Kipleting Mengich, Director for Cooperatives Drusilla Cherokony and other stakeholders in the cooperative sector.
