HEALTH WORKERS URGED TO GUARD THEIR PROFESSION, EMBRACE TEAMWORK AND SUSTAIN ESSENTIAL SERVICES

Uasin Gishu County Executive Committee Member for Health Services Janet Kurgat has lauded healthcare workers for their unwavering commitment to service delivery, urging them to maintain the same dedication in ensuring residents continue accessing quality healthcare services.

Speaking during an engagement with the facility Managers, Kurgat congratulated the health workforce for their resilience and sacrifice in sustaining healthcare services across the county. She encouraged them to continue embracing teamwork, professionalism, and a patient-centred approach in the discharge of their duties.

She noted that the county government values the efforts of healthcare workers and remains committed to creating an enabling environment that supports efficient and quality healthcare delivery.

Clinical Services Chief Officer Ambrose Tarus challenged healthcare workers to safeguard the integrity of their profession by upholding high ethical standards and remaining committed to quality patient care.

Tarus emphasized the need for uninterrupted delivery of essential health services, noting that emergency medical services, maternity care, immunization, tuberculosis (TB) and HIV services, as well as referral services, must continue seamlessly to protect the health and lives of residents.

He further called on healthcare workers to embrace teamwork and take ownership of the health facilities where they serve, saying that collective responsibility is key to strengthening service delivery.

“Own your facility and give it your best. When every healthcare worker takes responsibility and works together as a team, we build stronger health facilities and better health outcomes for our communities,” he said.

Acting Chief Officer for Promotive and Preventive Health, Dr. Billy Lubanga, echoed the call for professionalism, urging health workers to remain focused on their mandate while fostering collaboration across all levels of healthcare.

He emphasized that teamwork, accountability, and commitment to duty are essential in sustaining uninterrupted health services and achieving the county’s vision of delivering accessible, efficient, and quality healthcare to all residents.

The county leadership reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with healthcare workers to strengthen the health system and improve service delivery across all health facilities in Uasin Gishu County.
