PUBLIC PARTICIPATION ON FLLOCA INVESTMENTS COMMENCES ACROSS ALL SUB-COUNTIES

Public participation for the Financing Locally-Led Climate Action (FLLoCA) Investments officially commenced on Monday across all Sub-counties in Uasin Gishu County.

The exercise focuses on Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) data collection to ensure that approved projects are impactful, climate-responsive, and contribute to improved community livelihoods.

Public participation forums were conducted in all sub-counties and were overseen by Environment Directors and Officers to ensure compliance with environmental safeguards and community engagement standards.

Ward-Based Interventions
Kapsaos Ward – Turbo Sub-County
Flood management through the Kapkoros Storm Water Management Investment.
Tarakwa Ward – Kesses Sub-County

  • Empowering livelihoods through the Tarakwa Coffee Value Chain.
  • Strengthening indigenous community livelihoods through the Ogiek Coffee Nursery Value Chain.
    Sergoit Ward – Moiben Sub-County
    Chemarmar water spring.
    Kuinet/Kapsuswa Ward – Soy Sub-County
  • Enhancing community climate resilience and water security through the Mikwen Water Distribution and Conservation Investment.
  • Strengthening community resilience through stormwater management along the MDG–St. Gregory Catholic Church Road.
    Simat/Kapsaret Ward – Kapseret Sub-County
    Enhancing community resilience through water distribution under the Sugut Chebarus Investment.

All the interventions fall under Nguzo Number 7, which seeks to improve the living standards of residents of Uasin Gishu County by ensuring affordable water and sanitation services, a clean, safe, and healthy environment, and the sustainable management and conservation of natural resources.
