The County Government of Uasin Gishu, through the Department of Cooperatives and Enterprise Development, has urged cooperative societies and SACCOs across the County to prioritize holding their Annual General Meetings (AGMs), noting that they are crucial in shaping growth and securing future prospects.
Speaking on Thursday during the first AGM of Secure Ride Bodaboda SACCO, Senior Cooperative Officer Shadrack Rotich emphasized that AGMs allow societies to evaluate their progress and plan for future development.
He further stated that the County, in partnership with other stakeholders and government institutions, will continue training SACCOs on safety and emergency response during accidents.

“Through past partnerships on bodaboda safety and related initiatives, we have recorded a significant reduction in accidents. This shows the need for continuous safety training,” Rotich said.
He commended the SACCO leadership for demonstrating good governance and urged them to focus on reinvesting in their organization to strengthen financial stability.
During the meeting, members also benefited from a safety and emergency training session conducted by KMTC Eldoret Campus.
“We thank the county government for consistently training us not only on sector requirements but also on financial growth and development,” said one of the members present.
