REINTEGRATION CALLS DORMINATES AS 12 GRADUATE FROM MOIBEN REHABILITATION AND TREATMENT CENTER

Calls for the reintergration of the 5th cohort of the 12 rehabilitated clients into the societies dorminated the graduation event held on Friday at Moiben Rehabilitation and treatment center.

The event came after the clients successfully completed the 90-day process, seeing them fully recovered from the toxic use of drugs and substance abuse.

Speaking during the event,Alcoholic Drinks Control Board(ADCB)chairperson Emmanuel Chumo, who represented the County Executive for Health Eng Joseph Lagat urged their respective parents and the community to embrace them noting that the 12 individuals are now fully free to integrate and live a social.

Chumo advised them to engage in various economic activities as opposed to staying idle, adding that parents should frequently engage with their children for them to identify issues affecting them.

“We will continue working together with various partners to ensure that alcohol menace is dealt with across our county and to make our county free from drug substances.” Said Chumo

According to Director ADCB Koiya Arap Maiyo, the graduands have completely reformed, and they should be trusted and accepted back home.

He said drug abuse is a social problem that every family strives to bring down,emphasizing that the exercise will continue because it has proved to be a transformative initiative enabling many clients to live their normal lives after their full recovery.

“We’re totally transformed and ready to carry on with our daily activities and lead as examples to those people and our colleagues who are still abusing drugs…”

Building trust and forgiveness are major components that this facility has instilled us with and we are proud of the leadership of the county for coming up with this initiative which has really helped us” said one of the clients.

Also,in an effort towards rehabilitating more clients, the county government, through ADCB, is constructing a new rehabilitation center that will house at least 28 clients as plans to establish a female rehabilitation wing is underway.
