COUNTY URGING ON SACCOS TO SAVE AND REPAY TO ACCESS MORE LOANS

Saccos across Uasin Gishu County have been urged to continue saving and repaying loans acquired from the County Enterprise Development Fund (CEDF), so they can access more funds loaned out at cheaper rates.

While addressing members of Kibagenge bodaboda sacco including chairmen of various stages on Wednesday, Chief Officer for Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Fund Ruth Samoei said Saccos need to continue working to meet their expectations through savings to build themselves economically.

“As a department, we are always ready to help and guide you on matters Enterprise loans which enable your financial growth.”

“…you need to work and be part of the beneficiaries of the affordable housing project as well as register your members into the Social Health Insurance Fund(SHIF). Also, ensure you have genuine motorbike stickers and avoid obstruction,” added Samoei.

Some of the agendas at the meeting included repayment of CEDF loans, Saccos’ leadership and management issues, among others.

Kibagenge Bodaboda Sacco is the first to embrace digitization and automation of their services and has a membership of more than 1250 members.

Director for Enterprise Development Fund Kipleting Mengich, and Cooperatives Commissioner Roselyne Rae were among those present during the meeting.
