PS FOR DEVOLUTION PRESIDES OVER THE HANDOVER OF 158 MOTOR ASSETS TO COUNTY GOVERNMENT

Uasin Gishu Governor Dr Jonathan Bii on Tuesday held regard to the fact that Uasin Gishu has been chosen first to officially hand over and launch 158 motor assets from the defunct local authorities to the County Government.

Speaking during the ceremony at the County Yard, the County boss noted: “This is a good undertaking and we are hoping that we will avoid the Senate queries. At first, we had a challenge with full ownership but going forward, the value for every asset will enable us to satisfy the Auditor, and we are grateful for fast-tracking the process, ” said the County Boss.

Dr. Bii also lauded the drivers and machine operators for their good work.

Principal Secretary for Devolution Hon. Teresia Mbaika reiterated that the handover endeavours to ensure the summit revolution is fully implemented, achieved and devolution fully supported generously to citizens.

“As we launch this national exercise in Counties, the responsibilities now rest on individual county governments to ensure that the valued assets are dated in the county governments, ” said the PS.

Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot on his part affirmed that it’s finally great to solve the issue of assets management and the exercise will ensure that all the County Government of Uasin Gishu assets are numbered as CG 027.
