It is a dream come true for Olendu Elders Cooperative Society who are also village elders in Kesses Sub County to various counties begining with Nakuru, Nairobi and finally Mombasa for their first benchmark mission on sawmilling and wood value addition, courtesy of Uasin Gishu Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim.

The elders started the journey of running a sawmill business in 2017 after the acquisition of a Wood-Mizer machine through funding from the County Cooperative and Enterprise Development Fund.

CEDF Director Isaac Lagat thanked them for their cooperation saying that they have performed well since its inception noting their successes in financial and management as a demonstration that cooperative movement is a transformative agenda that has the potential to spur economic growth and promote development.
