A day after the gazette tender advert for the construction of two markets in Uasin Gishu County (Kapseret and Ainabkoi) by the Ministry of Housing and Urban Development categorized under Metropolitan, Municipal and those under to the Economic Stimulus Program(ESP), Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii on Wednesday engaged the residents and traders of Simat/Kapseret ahead of the establishment of the modern market.

The Governor, who was flanked by area MCA Hon. Moses Kebenei and County trade officials led by County Executive Committee Member Martha Cheruto noted that markets are vital avenues that influence the pricing of goods, further providing traders and farmers with opportunities to grow their economies.

The Governor had earlier called on the State Department for Housing and Urban Development to fast-track the establishment of the already earmarked market facilities for traders to benefit from them as soon as possible affirming his agenda on the provision of a conducive business environment for all traders across the county.
The state-of-the-art facilities will feature a one-storey building with spacious stalls, essential amenities like water and electricity connections, modern ablution blocks, lactation rooms, and state-of-the-art ICT hubs.

Ziwa, Kapseret and Cherunya market facilities were constructed under the economic stimulus program way back.
Trade Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui and Trade Director Isaac Lagat were among present.
