ENG. LAGAT LEADS DRAINAGE SYSTEMS INSPECTION AND MAINTENANCE EXERCISE

Uasin Gishu County Roads Executive Eng Joseph Lagat is leading an inspection exercise of road drainage systems in Eldoret town to identify and map areas that require urgent attention to improve drainage systems.

The activities also include opening natural waterways, installing culverts for flood management and ultimately, safeguarding people’s property during heavy rains.

Eng Lagat led an assessment exercise of areas affected by the recent downpour in Langas Ward, including Lancasta and Chemichemi areas, Segero Baptist Road which generally need maintenance. ‘Panya route’ area requires the construction of a Box Culvert to keep the community and and their property safe.

“My team will enhance regular inspections of road drainage systems and we will work with MCAs to unblock and ensure that our drainage systems are capable of supporting stormwater, all for the safety of the people of Uasin Gishu, “Eng Lagat noted.

He was accompanied by Dr Francis Nyarombe (Chairman Langas Ward Project Identification Committee), Mark Kiptum (Chairperson of Ward Climate Change Committee), Kalvin Manduku (area opinion leader), Andrew Mirimo(Elder Block 2), Community Health Promoters Tom Olang’o and Mary Jadudo.
