COUNTY POSITIONING SELF TO BECOME THE BEST DESTINATION FOR MICE TOURISM – CECM MARTHA CHERUTO

The County Government of Uasin Gishu will continue partnering with various government agencies and organizations for the betterment of trade.

Speaking on Tuesday during the training for business owners, directors and managers in the tourism and hospitality industry, County Executive Committee Member for Trade and Cooperatives Martha Cheruto said the collaborations are aimed at elevating and propelling the county and the North Rift Economic Bloc (NOREB) region.

” We are positioning ourselves as an excellent destination for Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions (MICE) and tourism,” said Cheruto.

The Trade and Cooperatives boss also called on the hoteliers to adopt technologies, and link clients directly to their hotels for the services they offer.

“You need to get ready and capitalize on the opportunities coming along with the promotion of Eldoret town into a city,” she added

She also said: “As an administration led by H.E Governor Jonathan Bii, we are also keen on enhancing the 24-hour economy by partnering with the relevant bodies to realize the installation of street lights.”

Dr. Geoffrey Koome took the participants through the management of human resources in tourism and hospitality, financial management in tourism and hospitality, and compliance in tourism among other key areas.

Mourine Chacha North Rift Regional Manager Tourism Fund, Directors Margaret Aiyabei (Tourism), Irene Malel(Investment) Brenda Rono Assistant director of industrialization were among those present.
