COUNTY ASSURES RESIDENTS OF SAFETY AS RAINS CONTINUE

The County Government of Uasin Gishu has intensified opening up natural waterways and drainage paths to avert any emerging disaster that comes with raging flood rains.

Before the onset of the rainfall, Governor Jonathan Bii’s administration had already put in place adequate measures to contain any eventualities in the event of El-Nino rain that had been predicted by the meteorological department.

A team of heavy machinery operators and other staff drawn from the Department of Roads, Transport and Public Works have been deployed to areas which are prone to flooding and have opened up drainages in parts of Kesses and Kapseret Sub Counties.

In case of any emergency, the County Executive Member for Roads Engineer Joseph Lagat has urged residents to use emergency lines: 0710646464 or 0532061185 to contact the county for assistance and quick response
