Chebororwa ATC/Conservancy

It is located on the far north east region on the border of Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet County,
56 KM from the city of Eldoret. This facility sits on a 2,500-acre piece of land, with 1000 acres utilized
for arable farming, and buildings while the rest 1500ha is in the mountainous part. The mountainous
region is a potential tourist attraction destination .
The proposed Chebororwa wildlife conservancy will be situated on this portion of the land due to its
climatic conditions and vegetation present as well as being on the uplands. The high vantage point
here offers a spectacular view of the ostensibly flat Uasin Gishu Plateau juxtaposed by the outstanding
Sergoit Hill and the Cherangany Hills. This inturn, will boost agro-tourism and conservation in the
county

Over the years, the training centre has been practicing Large scale maize seed production in
collaboration with Kenya Seed company, however, they have also ventured into commercial maize
production where over 400 acres of land is being utilized in maize farming. Wheat farming is also being
practiced with 140 acres of land being utilized.
Horticulture and Livestock keeping are also some activities present in the facility. A variety of animal
breeds such as Aryshire cows, dual purpose like Sahiwal, Dopper sheeps, Gala Goats and toggenburg
breed for milk purposes.
The facility is tasked with providing training on various aspects of agricultural technologies through
workshops, seminars, open fields days and field excursions thus attracting various farmers, institutions
and schools who are interested in learning. The services offered are accommodation, catering, dining.

Fanikiwa Limited

Located 14km from Eldoret CBD in Uasin Gishu County and bordering the Eldoret International Airport.
It is an expansive 25000 acre farm located along Eldoret- Kisumu road rearing the Sahiwal, Brown
Swiss and Hereford cattle breeds for dual purposes i.e for milk and meat.
The beef breeds reared include the Boran and the flaque which is a newly introduced breed. The dual
purpose breeds produce an average of 15 litres of milk per day per cow which has high nutritious fat
content. The dual breeds are cross bred with Holstein Freisan for better milk yields
People do visit the place to learn more about dairy and beef farmingThe management does not charge
for the visit .The farm has employed several people.
