The County Government of Uasin Gishu in collaboration with the USAID HERO project hosted a specialized training program focused on program-based budgeting aimed at equipping staff members from the departments of finance and health in Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet counties with essential skills in the budget-making process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Facilitated by the Kenya School of Government, the participants were immersed in sessions that delved into program-based budgeting principles, budget advocacy strategies, and the intricacies of the Medium-Term Expenditure Framework (MTEF).<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Clinical Services Chief Officer Dr. Joyce Sang noted that the training underscores the importance of aligning budget allocations with the outcomes and impact of specific programs and projects therefore enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of resource allocation within the participating counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Promotive and Preventive Health Chief Officer Dr Paul Wangwe added that empowering staff members to effectively communicate and champion budgetary decisions that benefit their communities is pivotal in ensuring transparent and accountable governance.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

One of the key objectives of the program was to enhance the capacity of finance and health department officials in Uasin Gishu and Elgeyo Marakwet counties to develop budgetary frameworks that prioritize service delivery, promote accountability, and drive sustainable development outcomes.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
