Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii on Monday morning flagged off a consignment of drugs worth Ksh 43 million, a direct provision from the Kenya Medical Supplies Authority (KEMSA) intended for distribution across all 138 healthcare facilities in Uasin Gishu County. This initiative marks a significant step in enhancing healthcare delivery in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the flagging-off ceremony, Governor Dr. Bii emphasized the importance of timely procurement and supply management in the healthcare sector, acknowledging that the county has consistently placed its orders on schedule; however, he urged KEMSA to address ongoing issues related to delays and inadequate supplies, which he noted have historically disrupted healthcare services across various counties.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are committed to ensuring that our healthcare services remain uninterrupted, and this begins with a reliable supply chain. I call upon KEMSA to resolve the persistent delays in deliveries so that residents can receive the medical attention they need without hindrance,\u201d Governor Dr Bii stated.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The governor further appealed to the Ministry of Health to expedite the procurement process for medical supplies, ensuring that communities across Uasin Gishu County receive essential medications and services promptly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe are fully dedicated to strengthening and expanding healthcare services to meet the needs of our community. Every resident deserves access to quality healthcare, and we must work together to make that a reality,\u201d he added.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In addition to the drug launch, Governor Bii visited the Kapteldon Sub County Hospital to inspect ongoing development projects, including a completed X-ray block as well as construction and renovation works at the facility where he commended the hospital staff for their commitment to timely service delivery and their efforts to maintain cleanliness in the facility.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
