The County Government of Uasin Gishu is set to implement the County Peer Review Mechanism (CPRM), a strategic and credible tool for improved governance and service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during a courtesy call by officials from NEPAD\/APRM, County Executive Committee Member for Finance Micah Rogony, expressed the County’s commitment to embracing the CPRM process.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He noted that the County is honoured to host the NEPAD and APRM delegation, recognizing the significance of their visit which was to raise awareness among the county leadership about the CPRM and its potential to strengthen governance practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Uasin Gishu has been steadfast in its commitment to good governance, transparency and improved service delivery,” said Rogony.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

County’s Economic Advisor Philip Melly noted that the peer review process presents an invaluable opportunity for the county to identify its strengths and address areas in need of improvement.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Peter Kimemia, Director of APRM and Governance, provided a detailed presentation on the CPRM process, explaining its rationale, structure, objectives, and benefits. He emphasized that the CPRM encourages self-assessment and peer review among counties, fostering a culture of accountability, transparency, and collaborative learning.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The County officials expressed enthusiasm for the initiative, recognizing the CPRM as a critical tool for assessing and enhancing governance practices.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

They reaffirmed their commitment to the process, viewing it as a strategic avenue for learning and continuous improvement in delivering services to residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NEPAD \/APRM Kenya is a Semi-Autonomous Government Agency under the National Treasury and Economic Planning. Its core mandate is to promote, facilitate, and coordinate the African Union\u2019s development and governance initiatives in Kenya.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting was attended by County Executive Committee Members, Chief Officers and Directors, who all demonstrated support for the initiative. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
