The County Government of Uasin GISHU, Department of Environment in collaboration with the Kenya Climate Innovation Centre (KCIC) on Tuesday commenced a three-day workshop focused on formulating a comprehensive waste management policy, aimed at addressing important issues regarding waste disposal and sustainability in Uasin Gishu County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bringing together stakeholders from multiple sectors like Old Uganda Road Enterprises, Agriculture, Trade, Health Services, and Fire departments, the workshop aims to enhance the current draft policy by facilitating discussions and insights from a diverse group of participants.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uasin Gishu County Water Eng. Tabitha Kipnyango and Vincent Ogaya from KCIC are guiding the workshop, emphasizing the importance of cooperation in addressing issues linked to insufficient waste management practices like environmental harm, health dangers, and pollution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The workshop focuses on key elements of waste management; collection, sorting, recycling, and disposal procedures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
