The Principal Secretary State Department of Micro Small and Medium Enterprises (MSME) Development under the Ministry of Cooperative and Micro Small and Medium Enterprises(MSME) Hon. Susan Mang’eni has lauded the County Government of Uasin Gishu for setting aside trading and exhibition spaces for MSMEs to show to the world opportunities that the county has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on Friday as she officially closed a two-day Eldoret City Medium and Small Enterprises (MSEs) Expo, an event organized by the Micro and Small Enterprises Authority(MSEA) in partnership with the county government, Mang’eni said MSMEs contribute 40% to the country’s GDP and 60% globally.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“We want to support them to grow so that as they achieve their goals, we also achieve as a country in terms of growth of our economy” said Mang’eni<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The PS also encouraged the Eldoret City SMEs Expo event to be marked annually to celebrate the coming of the city.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She further noted that the ministry is working with MSEA and KIE on a product that will muscle MSMEs financially for them to be able to do business competitively.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

County Executive Committee Member for Roads Eng Joseph Lagat who represented Trade CECM Martha Cheruto said they will continue working closely with MSMEs to see their businesses grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He pointed the establishment of a one stop shop that has eased permit application processes as an initiative that has benefited the business community immensely, sentiments that were echoed by Trade Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
