Uasin Gishu Governor Dr Jonathan Bii has promised the expansion of youth programs that seek to empower the young segment of society.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking as he graced Ward championships of the ongoing Governor’s Cup Football Tournament during the weekend, Dr Bii said his government, inspired by Nguzo number 5, understands that the youth are the pillar of tomorrow’s foundation noting that his government has lined up more programs for the youth of Uasin Gishu.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Bondeni FC drew first blood against Sporting FC, getting the first goal 10 minutes into the first half, and retreated to the defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

At the end of the final match played at Hill School Grounds, homeboys Bondeni lifted the Racecourse Ward title, Sporting finishing second, Sugunga and Lakers third and fourth respectively. Racecourse Starlets won the ladies category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kapsoya Ward, Kipkorgot FC prevailed Kipsinende second, Eldoret City and Malakwen placing to fourth. Eldoret City Starlets and Elgon View College were top two in the ladies’ category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Kipkaren Youth won in Kipkenyo Ward, followed by Young Muslims, Walimu FC and Kaptoro FC in that order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kuinet\/Kapsuswa, Isili FC, Growel FC, UG Coaches and Marakwet FC were first to fourth as Dela Sharks Starlets, Blackburn Starlets, and Kuinet Starlets placed in top four of the ladies category.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Langas Superstars won in Langas Ward, Stima FC second, PSG and Upcoming third and fourth. Solasa ladies proved too good to win the ladies category, Mwiruti second and Espodec third in the pile.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In Kimumu Ward, Mfalme FC roared, their victory completing an unbeaten run since Saturday’s preliminaries.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tumkkas settled for the second slot, and Greatlink FC and Westlands FC came third and fourth in that order. Logos 08, Kimumu Queens and Young Ladies prevailed in first to third positions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Winners at the Ward level got Ksh 30,000 plus uniforms, second Ksh 20,000 and unform while third and fourth won Ksh 10,000 and Ksh 5000 respectively. The top two teams from each category and each of the 30 Wards, will proceed to the sub-county championships.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

MCAs Amos Kiptanui (Racecourse), David Letting (Kipkenyo) and Isaac Kirwa (Kapsoya) were among the legislators who watched the action in their wards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

County Executive for Agriculture Edward Sawe, Chief Officers Jelagat Tirop (Sports), Eliud Chemaget (Finance), Mark Some (Administration), CPA Victorine Kapkiai (Economic Planning) and directors flanked the Governor.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
