Small Medium Enterprises (SMEs) products from across Uasin Gishu County will soon land on international market shelves following a fruitful engagement between the County Government and logistics company, Dalsey Hillblom Lynn (DHL) on the export of their products.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on Wednesday during the meeting, Director for Trade Isaac Lagat, affirmed the county’s readiness to support SMEs saying Governor Dr Jonathan Bii’s Nguzo number four prioritizes affairs of SMEs to realize growth and expansion of trade.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He assured DHL that the department will work with them to see the products of the county entrepreneurs exported outside the country not only to expand the business base for traders but also to market Uasin Gishu County internationally.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“By exporting our products, we will be known across the globe and investors will be keen to come and see where these products originate from.”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

“With the creation of a conducive business environment for our traders and our one-stop desk which has made it possible for them to have unified licenses within the shortest time, it is time to see our trader’s products sold outside our country,” said Lagat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

DHL Express, a German logistics company providing international shipping and courier services facilitates traders to access markets outside the country empowering SMEs in value-adding their products and helping them on issues of cross-border trade among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Eva Gitimu and Liz Anyumba from the organization maintained that they also facilitate traders with requirements such as the quality of products needed for export, partner with associations of SMEs on products that their demand is highly needed abroad, and facilitate cross-border trade opportunities among others.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The duo added: “Since different products require different documentations, we guide and organize SMEs with similar export trade products, capacity build them on what is required of them to promote their ventures”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
