In a bid to boost revenue collection, the County Government of Uasin Gishu has partnered with the Commission for Revenue Allocation and the World Bank for a two-day training session on frontier methods.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

County Executive for Finance, Micah Rogony, highlighted the importance of the training, stating that Uasin Gishu has witnessed an improvement in revenue collection, translating to development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He emphasized the need for flexibility in registering revenues and documents, noting that the Advertising Physical Act of 2019 provides ample opportunities for revenue generation.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The training also focused on the role of open-air markets in revenue collection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mr Rogony disclosed that the county collected Ksh 18 million from markets in the last financial year. However, after closing the largest market, revenue doubled, demonstrating the importance of efficiency.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Executive also said the health sector can be harnessed and systems made more efficient for improved revenue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“In two weeks we have been able to raise Ksh 2 million in District Hospital, we may be able to surpass our target, ” noted County Director for Revenue Management, CPA Jonah Lamai.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
