Uasin Gishu County Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii EGH has emphasized the need to value education for pupils in ECDEs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking at Ainabkoi\/Olare and Tarakwa Wards, Ainabkoi and Kesses Sub-County respectively during the ongoing disbursement of bursaries at the ward level on Saturday, the county boss encouraged the ECDE teachers to ensure quality of education to the learners in the ECDEs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Dr. Bii outlined initiatives his administration has rolled out which include the school milk program, confirmation of 1374 ECDE teachers into permanent and pensionable terms, ensuring a motivated workforce and a good environment for learners through the construction of modern ECDE classrooms, as well as provision of essential teaching and learning materials to ECDE pupils across the County.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He also urged the teachers to take up the challenge of enhancing ECDE.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We want our children in ECDE to speak fluent English before proceeding to grade one. The reward we want, is for our children to express themselves with confidence,” added Governor Dr. Bii.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Officer for Education, Marion Birgen, on her part urged all heads of various institutions to acknowledge receipt of bursary funds by sending acknowledgement letters to the Department.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

In Ainabkoi\/Olare Ward, 688 students benefited from a Kshs. 4 million bursary while Ksh.4 million will benefit 658 needy learners in Tarakwa Ward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor was accompanied by the Members of the County Assembly Hon. Chepkonga (Ainabkoi\/Olare), Hon. Yego (Tarakwa Ward) and Hon. Jonathan Ngetich (Kaptagat), County Executive Committee Member for Water Dr. Sam Kotut, Eng. Lucy Ng’endo (Youths and Sports) and Elijah Kosgei (Public Service Management) Eng. Joseph Lagat (Roads). Chief Officers for Agriculture and Agribusiness Nixon Cheplong, CPA Victorine Kapkiai (Economic Planning) and Ambrose Tarus (Public Service Management).<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Directors for Vocational Training Phyllis Lagat, Wilson Sawe (Administration and Planning), Deputy Directors, Pius Mosbei (Education) Rosyline Kosgei (Education) Julius Tanui (Resource mobilization), Stephen Kemoi (Vocational Training), Kesses Sub-county Administrator Joseph Bett, Olare\/Ainabkoi Ward administrator Fredrick Serem, among other county officials, were also present.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
