The call for farmers to venture into coffee farming gained momentum on Wednesday as the County, in collaboration with the new Kenya Planters Cooperative Union (KPCU), conducted a sensitization exercise at AIC Lower Kamagut in Turbo Sub-County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The event was graced by New KPCU Chairman, Daniel Chemno, alongside County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture, Mr. Edward Sawe emphasized the importance of diversifying crops to bolster the local economy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CECM Sawe reiterated Governor Dr. Bii’s administration’s plans to distribute more than 180,000 coffee seedlings to interested farmers to boost coffee production within the county and enhance the financial prospects of local farmers who opt to invest in coffee production.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Agriculture Chief Officer Mr Elphas Kesio noted the efforts between the county government and KPCU saying it will drive agricultural diversification, enhance economic prosperity, and empower farmers to capitalize on the vast potential of coffee farming.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
