The North Rift Economic Bloc Gender Strategy (2024-2028) has been unveiled marking a significant milestone for the region’s Gender Strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the launch of the strategy, Uasin Gishu Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii EGH, said the strategy highlights NOREB’s dedication to addressing critical issues that have impeded the region’s progress while placing gender equality at the forefront<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Governor Dr. Bii, who was the chief guest at the launch, revealed that Uasin Gishu County is in the process of developing a policy framework for the recently established gender directorate, a move aimed at mainstreaming issues related to gender.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This reaffirms our commitment to prioritizing gender issues and streamlining for action as outlined in the Nguzo Kumi manifesto,” Dr. Bii said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The theme for the Gender Strategy was ‘Unlocking the region’s potential for economic and social transformation’.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The strategy sets the pace for prioritizing social, economic, and financial inclusion, combatting sexual and gender-based violence, promoting peace and security in conflict areas, and enhancing the participation of women in leadership and climate change initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On her part the Chairperson of the NOREB Caucus and Governor Nandi County H.E. Stephen Sang, said the successful implementation of the strategy will not only enhance gender equality but also contribute significantly to the overall progress and prosperity of the region, fostering a more equitable and sustainable future for all.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
