Farmers in Uasin Gishu County have received a boost as the County Government received 10,000 bags of subsidized fertilizer from the National Government. The aim is to support farmers and address the shortage of planting aids in the region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the distribution at various cereal stores, Agriculture Principal Secretary Dr Pius Rono highlighted the collaborative efforts between the County and National Government to ensure all farmers have access to the fertilizer. A budget of 12.5 million has been allocated for this year’s planting season.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Rono emphasized the efficient distribution of the fertilizer through railways and roads, with 300 casual workers employed to assist in the process<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Dr Rono encouraged Farmers to sell maize to the National Cereals and Produce Board, utilizing available resources for agricultural sustainability.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture (CECM) Mr Edward Sawe, the fertilizer will be available at distribution points in last-mile stores such as Soy Mateeny, Borotet, Tuiyotich, Kuona Mbele, Kaptait, among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CECM Sawe said this initiative aims to boost agricultural productivity and support local farmers in the region, with Governor Jonathan Bii’s commitment to assist Uasin Gishu, maize farmers.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n
