The County Government of Uasin Gishu has shifted its focus on the improvement of ECDE Education to performance and quality service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This is after the initial huge investment in a number of key projects that have transformed the sector.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the initiatives include the rollout of the school milk program, confirmation of ECDE teachers into permanent and pensionable terms, ensuring a motivated workforce and a good environment for learners by the construction of modern ECDE classrooms, as well as provision of essential teaching and learning materials to over 10,000 ECDE pupils across the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking when he held a meeting with ECDE coordinators from 6 sub-counties, Deputy Governor Eng. John Barorot encouraged them to ensure they provide quality education for the learners in the ECDE.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He also emphasised the need for value in the provision of quality education.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

\u201cWe want our children in PP2 to communicate fluently and with confidence. Take up the challenge and be part of the change,\u201d Eng. Barorot urged the coordinators.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cAlso embrace the culture of performance and challenge them to be the best,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The DG further encouraged the teachers to embrace technology urging them to be tech-savvy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to the County Executive Committee Member for Education, Anthony Sitienei highlighted that everything circumference around quality assurance measures.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He notes, “What you should do in class and the end product is a child being able to read and communicate efficiently”.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The CECM further revealed that 48 ECDE coordinators will be trained before the rolling out of digital e-learning for the ECDE learners.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He encouraged them to have a positive attitude toward the digital era.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On her part, the Chief Officer for Education, Marion Birgen, hinted at more budgetary allocation for the teaching and learning material for the ECDE in the next financial year.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She also said as a department with other partners they are preparing to roll out digital learning to all the 673 ECDE Centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Francesca Bowen, Chairperson Public Service board, reiterated her commitment to working together to see that the staff are executing their mandate effectively.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
