Eldoret Library on Tuesday received 646 books from Scottsdale city in Arizona, United States of America.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Arizona is the sister city to Uasin Gishu County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The books were received by Ruth Jemo, the Director of Library Services.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking after receiving the books, the Director said: “This is a starting point for the partnership in exchanging information between Arizona and the County.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We hope these books are going to equip the residents of the county with the requisite knowledge even in supporting the Governor’s 10 Pillar Manifesto,” she added.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Jemo also noted that there was no way a community could prosper with ignorance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We need a literate society that is able to read, write and even comprehend knowledge,” the Director said while also expressing hope for a greater partnership in accessing e-resources which will help locals in the county.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

On his part, the Director for Culture and Heritage Mohamed Haji said the county appreciates the donations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“It’s going to take us a long way as readers of this county will now benefit from these donations,” he added.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
