Uasin Gishu Governor H.E Dr. Jonathan Bii Chelilim continued with his programs under Nguzo Kumi blueprint of opening up new roads in various parts of the County in a move aimed at covering about 1200 kilometres of road network across the county under the financial year 2023\/24.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On Friday afternoon, the County boss was in Tulwet Chuiyat Ward where he presided over the opening up of Lingway- Kapranga road which had rendered the locals unable to ferry their cash crops to the ready market in Eldoret town and the surrounding trading centres.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This road will play a crucial role by not only facilitating the residents to transport their goods to ready markets in Eldoret and other surrounding trading centres but also help the sick access medical services at the nearby Lingway dispensary,” stated Governor Dr. Bii.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The Governor said that his administration is carrying out other road projects that are to ensure accessibility of goods and services to boost the social and economic growth in the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief Officer Roads, Transport and Public Works Eng. Abraham Kiptalam who accompanied the governor said they have already graded several roads in the ward including the opening up of Kaplelach-Tumoge road and ongoing grading in the Chagaiya area, Tarakwa ward among others.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Present were CECM’s Mr Edward Sawe (Agriculture), Dr Janeth Kosgey (Lands), Chief Officers Mary Kerich (Energy, Environment and Climate Change), Ambrose Tarus (Public Service), Mark Some (Administration), CPA.
