The County Department of Agriculture on Friday sponsored a benchmarking visit for Moiben Farmers Cooperative Society (FCS) farmers to Tuiyo FCS in Kapseret Sub-County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

County Executive Committee Member for Agriculture, Mr. Edward Sawe, alongside Chief Officer for Livestock Mr. Nixon Cheplong and Directors Dr. Philip Biama (Veterinary) and Abraham Kiptanui (Livestock) were present during the send-off of the farmers to Tuiyo FCS at the Agricultural Offices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

CECM Sawe emphasized the need for farmers to learn from each other and adopt best practices in order to increase their productivity and profitability in the longrun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This initiative was aimed at exposing Moiben farmers to successful farming practices and innovative techniques employed by Tuiyo Farmers cooperative society,” said Mr Sawe.<\/em><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Mr Sawe reiterated the County’s commitment to support farmers and promoting agricultural development in the County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The benchmarking mission will provide an opportunity for Moiben farmers to interact with their counterparts from Tuiyo Farmers Cooperative Society and learn from their experiences.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The County highlighted the importance of animal crop selection, soil management, and livestock rearing techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On his part, Chief Officer Mr. Cheplong urged Moiben farmers to explore similar opportunities in their own farming practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to Cheplong, benchmarking will not only be a learning experience for farmers but also a platform for networking and collaboration.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director Kiptanui in a sentiment echoed by his counterpart Dr Philip Biama, urged farmers to establish contacts and exchange information with their counterparts from Tuiyo Farmers cooperative society to enable them to continue learning and supporting each other even after the benchmarking mission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
