The County Government of Uasin Gishu has reassured the business community to continue complying with and supporting the business data mapping exercise that entered its fourth day on Thursday and ends tomorrow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Trade Chief Officer Geoffrey Tanui while checking data analysis and streaming on Thursday maintained that enumerators who were engaged to handle the program are mandated to collect business-related data but not to enforce license compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“Don’t run away because of fears that you will be arrested for running your business without a license. We are not after any enforcement but data collection,” assured Tanui.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tanui also adds that if one misses out on mapping of the business exercise, they will not be issued with a single business permit noting that a penalty fee for failing to map the business will be introduced.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“I’m optimistic that we are going to register more than 50,000 businesses an indication that will not only see our revenue increase but necessitate the attainment of our set revenue target of sh2.7 billion” added Tanui.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Currently, the county directorate of licensing is using a door-to-door business policy in issuing licenses. According to the technical team headed by Licensing and Compliance Director David Kebenei, this requires a review to have every business licensed accordingly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

So far, the analysis indicates that Huruma Ward has the highest number of businesses mapped so far.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
