IN THE PROCESS OF IDENTIFYING BENEFICIARIES FOR BURSARIES"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p>The County Government of Uasin Gishu is in the process of identifying bright but needy students who will be supported to pursue their studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>County Executive Committee Member for Education, Anthony Sitienei, says the process is being done at the ward level.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>\u201cEach ward has been allocated Ksh 3 million,\u201d Sitienei said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>He asked needy students to ensure they submit their applications to be considered for the bursaries.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 \/><\/figure>\n<\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>Mr Sitienei spoke on Wednesday when he represented Governor Dr. Jonathan Bii EGH, for the flagging off of 239 Uasin Gishu students selected to benefit from the Elimu Scholarship Program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<blockquote class=\"wp-block-quote is-layout-flow wp-block-quote-is-layout-flow\">\n<p><strong>\u201cThe Governor wishes you the best and thanks Elimu Scholarship for supporting the needy students,\u201d the CECM said.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>According to Jomo Kenyatta Foundation Director, Consolata Rop, over 11,200 needy students will benefit from the program.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>9,200 are for needy students while 2,000 slots were allocated for students in Alopeyee and Kakuma Refugee Camps.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure program this year, and expressed confidence the number will be higher for more needy students to be supported<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n<p>Beneficiaries will get a full scholarship for the four years in secondary school that will cater for their school fees, shopping, and uniforms among other financial needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Member of Parliament for Turbo Constituency, Janet Sitienei, presided over the flagging-off event.
