Department of Agriculture Livestock and Fisheries on Thursday collaborated with the Department of Health Services held a meeting to tackle suspected cases of rabies in the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This meeting was organized as a response to public concern about the rising number of stray dogs in the County.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Chief officer for Agriculture Mr. Elphas Kesio, Veterinary Services Director Dr. Philip Biama and Livestock Director Abraham Kiptanui led the meeting to address this urgent matter.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was highlighted that rabies is a deadly virus that can be transmitted to humans through the bite of an infected animal.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Department of Health was urged to collaborate with other relevant agencies to sensitize the residents on the importance of taking necessary precautions when encountering stray dogs.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The team from the Public Health department announced their plan to work together with the Department of Health to conduct sensitization campaigns.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

These campaigns will educate the public on what to do if they are bitten by a dog, including seeking immediate medical attention and reporting the incident to the authorities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the meeting one of the key actions discussed was the availability of rabies drugs in all health centers.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

It was agreed upon that the Department of Health will ensure that these drugs are readily available to provide immediate treatment for individuals who may have been exposed to the virus<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

This measure aims to prevent the spread of rabies and protect the health and safety of the community.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The meeting concluded with a commitment from all parties involved to work together to address the issue of stray dogs and suspected rabies cases.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
