His Excellency Governor Jonathan Chelilim Bii, EGH on Saturday conducted a comprehensive site visit to assess the proposed projects of the Kenya Informal Settlements Improvement Project (KISIP) in various wards.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor emphasized the commitment to inclusive development, stating, “Our goal is to transform these informal settlements into thriving, sustainable communities that provide a better quality of life for all residents as pledged in my manifesto under the Nguzo Kumi.”<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Janeth Kosgey, CECM for Lands, Housing, Physical Planning, and Urban Development, highlighted the strategic planning behind the projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“We are focused on creating not just infrastructure but vibrant spaces that address the specific needs of each ward,” said the CECM.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

She emphasized the importance of collaboration between government officials, elected leaders, and residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During the governor’s site visit, the presence of MCAs was notable, with Hon. Sarah Malel (Deputy Speaker) of Kimumu, Hon. David Letting representing Kipkenyo Ward, Hon. Francis Muya representing Langas Ward, Hon. Peter Kimani Wanjohi for Huruma Ward, Hon. Gilbert Koech for Kiplombe Ward, and Hon. Isaac Kibet for Kapsaos Ward. Their active involvement demonstrated a collaborative approach to addressing the unique challenges faced by each ward.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In Kimumu Ward, the Governor inspected projects in Ngomongo, including road networks (1.3 km), footpaths (1.5 km), and drainage (1.5 km). Similar assessments were made in Langas Ward, Kasarani, Segero, Kipkenyo Ward, Kiplombe Ward, Huruma Ward, and Kapsaos Ward.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Specific details, such as road networks, footpaths, drainage, street lights, ablution blocks, high masts, and public parks, formed part of the project in each area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Governor’s commitment to improving the lives of residents was evident as he interacted with community members and emphasized the importance of tailored solutions for each ward. The collaboration between County Government officials community members and their elected representatives showcased a unified effort to address the diverse needs of informal settlements and create sustainable, resilient communities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
