The Department of Energy, Natural Resources, Environment and Climate Change on Tuesday continued with the review of the County Climate Change Act and policy in a bid to harmonize the two documents. https:\/\/www.worldbank.org\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

The team was led by Director Livestock Abraham Kiptanui flanked by Deputy Director Climate Change Mr. Philip Lagat.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Director Abraham Kiptanui challenged the team to ensure they do comprehensive documents that can be used to transform the livelihoods of Uasin Gishu residents.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He further highlighted that the documents will guide the implementation of programs within the county and at the same time help in mitigating the effects of climate change in the county. https:\/\/www.treasury.go.ke\/<\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n

These documents will help build the resilience of the community and improve the livelihoods through enhanced agricultural and food production,” added the Director.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The County Climate Change Act and Policy among other key documents will guide the implementation of Governor Bii’s manifesto under pillar no 7 which seeks to strengthen the capacity to ensure residents of Uasin Gishu adopt the use of green energy sources for improved livelihoods, provide access to clean water to over 60 per cent of households, rehabilitate and protect water catchment areas, and improve food security through the use of climate-smart agricultural practices as indicated in Nguzo number one<\/p>\n\n\n\n
