WATER PROJECT HANDED OVER TO CONTRACTOR FOR CONSTRUCTION"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">More communities across Uasin Gishu County are set to benefit from improved access to reliable and sustainable water supplies as contractors continue with works on more than 60 water projects.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Among the projects is the Chepkoilel Water Project, which was officially handed over to the contractor on Monday in Tapsagoi Ward, Turbo Sub-County, marking the beginning of works aimed at addressing water challenges in the area.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The project will involve the supply and installation of water pumps and solar panels, construction of pumping mains and distribution pipelines, installation of communal water points, as well as rehabilitation works on existing water infrastructure.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Once completed, the project is expected to benefit churches, schools and more than 400 households within the surrounding areas, providing residents with improved access to clean and reliable water.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-gallery has-nested-images columns-default is-cropped wp-block-gallery-1 is-layout-flex class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The handover exercise was overseen by Tapsagoi Ward Member of County Assembly, Nicholas Bitok, area ward administrator Vincent Sambai and Engineer Benadys Chelagat, who emphasized the importance of ensuring the project is implemented effectively and within the agreed timelines.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Bitok urged the contractor to involve local youth in the project once construction begins, saying this would provide employment opportunities and enable residents to directly benefit from the development.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">He also called on members of the community to cooperate with the contractor and other stakeholders to ensure the smooth implementation and successful completion of the project.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The Chepkoilel project is among a broader programme of more than 60 water projects being rolled out across Uasin Gishu, to expand water infrastructure and improve access to reliable water for communities
