The Governor’s Cup Football Tournament officially got underway in Ainabkoi\u2013Olaare Ward with exciting opening matches played at the Arap Moi grounds. The tournament was officially flagged off by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Agriculture, Dr. Sam Kotut, who was accompanied by the Director ICT Titus Kimaiyo during the launch in Ainabkoi Sub-County. The opening ceremony attracted players, officials and football fans eager to witness the start of the grassroots competition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the opening Pool C.1 fixture, Dry’s made an impressive start to their campaign with a 2-0 victory over Kapngetuny. The first goal came in the 27th minute before Dry’s added a second after the break to secure all three points. Kapngetuny fought hard throughout the match but were unable to break down a disciplined Dry’s defence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The win gives Dry’s an early advantage in Pool C.1 as the race for qualification to the Round Robin stage gathers momentum. More thrilling matches are expected across the ward as teams continue their quest for Governor’s Cup glory under the tournament’s motto: “Uniting Our Ward, Empowering Our Youth Through Football.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
