The County Government of Uasin Gishu continues to reiterate its commitment to restoring hope and transforming lives through its rehabilitation and treatment programme, with family therapy emerging as a key pillar in the recovery journey of clients battling alcohol and substance use disorders.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking on Friday during the second family therapy session for clients under Cohort Eight at the Uasin Gishu County Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre in Moiben, the Director of the Alcoholic Drinks Control Board (ADCB), Koiya Arap Maiyo, in a speech delivered by Chief Programmes Officer Beatrice Tanui, said the county remains passionate and fully committed to supporting individuals on the path to recovery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tanui commended parents and guardians for attending the therapy session, noting that their participation reflects a shared commitment to healing families affected by addiction.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She explained that the session focused on forgiveness, making amends and reconciliation, helping clients rebuild relationships with their families while strengthening their spiritual connection with God.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Tanui further lauded Governor Jonathan Bii for prioritizing the rehabilitation programme, saying his administration has transformed the Moiben facility into a centre of hope that continues to restore dignity to individuals and families across the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

“This process is about restoring broken relationships between clients and their families, as well as reconciling with God. The positive transformation we continue to witness among our clients affirms that the rehabilitation programme is making a meaningful difference,” she said.<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Parents who attended the session expressed gratitude to the county government for providing quality rehabilitation services free of charge, saying the programme has given their children a second chance at life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Uasin Gishu County Rehabilitation and Treatment Centre has continued to demonstrate the importance of a holistic approach to recovery by integrating medical treatment, psychosocial support, spiritual guidance and family therapy to promote lasting recovery and successful reintegration into society.
