The County Government of Uasin Gishu, keeping a keen focus on creating enabling environments for trade, is intensifying efforts to improve market infrastructure, with key markets in Kapseret Sub-County nearing full operationalization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

This follows an inspection tour by the County Executive Committee Member (CECM) for Trade and Cooperatives, Dr. Philip Chebunet, who visited several markets to assess their progress and operational status.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inspection covered 64 Ultra-Modern Market, Kipkaren Market, Langas Market, and Kapseret Market, all of which are at different stages of completion and utilization.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Chebunet noted that construction works at 64 Ultra-Modern Market have reached 65 percent completion, while Kipkaren Market has been fully completed and is ready for stall allocation. Langas Market is already operational and serving traders, while Kapseret Market has also been completed and awaits allocation to prospective occupants.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

During stakeholder engagements at the markets, the County government shed light on plans to supply adequate water, drainage and security, which are key factors to a conducive business.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Dr. Chebunet assured traders that the county administration is committed to resolving the identified challenges to ensure the markets provide a safe, efficient, and business-friendly environment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He reiterated that the county government remains focused on investing in modern market infrastructure and supporting services aimed at empowering traders, stimulating local commerce, and expanding economic opportunities for residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The inspection exercise forms part of the county’s broader strategy to ensure market projects deliver their intended economic impact through full utilization, improved service delivery, and enhanced support for the trading community across Kapseret Sub-County.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
