Uasin Gishu County’s digital transformation and performance management initiatives captured the attention of delegates at the 2026 National Productivity and Performance Conference organized by the Salaries and Remuneration Commission.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

County Secretary Philip Meli, representing Governor Jonathan Bii Chelilim, presented the county’s success story during a session on Productivity and Performance Measurement, Management Recognition and Rewarding Practices, where Uasin Gishu featured as a case study alongside lessons from the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development in an event that took place at the Kenya School of Government, Nairobi.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Meli’s presentation drew keen interest from participants as he outlined how the county has leveraged technology and innovation to improve efficiency, accountability, and service delivery.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Delegates particularly took note of the county’s digitization agenda, which has transformed key sectors of governance and public service.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Among the initiatives highlighted was the One-Stop Service Centre, which has streamlined access to county services by bringing multiple services under one roof, significantly reducing turnaround times and enhancing customer experience for residents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Meli also showcased the SisiboPay revenue management platform, which has strengthened revenue collection through digital payments, enhanced transparency, and minimized revenue leakages.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the health sector, he highlighted the deployment of digital health systems that have improved patient management, reporting, and coordination of healthcare services across county facilities.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The County Secretary further outlined Uasin Gishu’s performance management framework, including performance contracting, staff appraisal systems, and employee recognition programs that have fostered a results-oriented culture within the county government.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The conference brought together leaders from national and county governments, policymakers, the private sector, academia, civil society, and development partners to explore strategies for enhancing productivity, improving service delivery, strengthening revenue generation, and accelerating sustainable economic growth.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Participants commended the county’s practical application of technology and performance-based management, with many expressing interest in learning from Uasin Gishu’s experience in digitizing services and improving organizational productivity.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
