The County Government of Uasin Gishu has reaffirmed its commitment to improving children\u2019s heart health through strategic partnerships aimed at supporting life-saving cardiac care initiatives.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during a consultative meeting held with a team from The Mater Hospital, County Executive Committee Member for Health Services Janet Kurgat said the county remains dedicated to championing initiatives that promote access to specialized healthcare services for children born with heart conditions.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The discussions centered on preparations for the upcoming Mater Heart Run 2026, scheduled to take place on 23rd May at Moi Girls High School, Eldoret.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

Kurgat noted that the annual heart run is a noble initiative that continues to transform the lives of children suffering from cardiac diseases by raising funds to facilitate corrective heart surgeries and treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

She emphasized the importance of partnerships between county governments, healthcare institutions, and stakeholders in strengthening awareness on heart health while mobilizing communities to support vulnerable children in need of specialized care.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Clinical Services Chief Officer Ambrose Tarus and Acting Chief Officer for Promotive and Preventive Health Dr Billy Lubanga also attended the meeting, reiterating the county\u2019s commitment to strengthening specialized healthcare services and supporting initiatives geared towards improving child health outcomes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Mater Hospital team, led by Mater Heart Run Coordinator Mike Ortege, lauded Uasin Gishu County for its continued support towards healthcare programs aimed at improving lives and enhancing access to quality medical services.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

The county government further called upon residents, institutions, and partners to participate in the heart run, noting that every contribution plays a crucial role in giving children with heart conditions a second chance at life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In a separate engagement, the county health leadership also held discussions with departmental directors on strengthening county emergency response and preparedness systems, with a focus on improving coordination, efficiency, and timely response to health emergencies across the county.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
