The County Government of Uasin Gishu has intensified efforts to strengthen accountability in the health sector by training managers, accountants, and administrators from high-volume facilities on financial reporting and core accounting practices.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The capacity-building session emphasized practical skills in the accounting cycle, accurate record-keeping, and the preparation of timely, reliable financial reports. Participants were also guided through key procedures to ensure compliance with public finance regulations and promote transparency in the management of health resources.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during the training, Clinical Services Chief Officer Ambrose Tarus stressed the need to enhance financial audits across health facilities, noting that strong reporting and auditing systems are essential for the prudent use of public funds and the delivery of quality healthcare services.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

\u201cFinancial reporting and auditing are critical, and it is important to understand the procedures,\u201d said Tarus. \u201cTake full advantage of this opportunity to acquire the right knowledge that will strengthen your work.\u201d<\/p>\n\n\n\n

He urged participants to apply the skills gained to improve financial discipline and reporting standards within their facilities, adding that this would support better decision-making and more effective resource allocation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The initiative reflects the county government\u2019s commitment to strengthening governance in the health sector.
