The County Government of Uasin Gishu has issued a stern warning to individuals involved in the production and distribution of dangerous alcoholic substances, including ethanol, stating they will face the full force of the law.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Speaking during a press briefing at Langas Police Station on Monday, County Director for the Alcoholic Drinks Control Board, Koiya Arap Maiyo, revealed that at least 27 jerry cans of ethanol were seized by police while being transported from Nandi through Uasin Gishu en route to Nairobi.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Maiyo emphasized that the county will continue to collaborate closely with enforcement agencies, including the police and the Kenya Bureau of Standards (KEBS), lauding their coordinated efforts that have consistently led to successful crackdowns.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n\n\n\n

He urged business operators to acquire the necessary licenses to ensure compliance and smooth operations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Uasin Gishu Governor H.E. Dr. Jonathan Bii has continuously reiterated his administration\u2019s commitment to protecting residents from harmful substances, noting that the crackdown is part of broader efforts to safeguard public health and uphold law and order.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

According to County Police Commandant Benjamin Mwathi, two suspects are currently in police custody in connection with the illegal consignment. He noted a worrying trend where perpetrators are increasingly using high-end vehicles to transport illicit substances in a bid to evade detection.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Mwathi warned that law enforcement officers will intensify vehicle inspections moving forward and called on members of the public to report any suspicious activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
